Once again this year, the Forest Glen Global Issues Group is supporting the organization

Free the Children. FTC was started 16 years ago by 12 year old Craig Keilburger, in an effort

to eliminate child labour. The Global Issues Group is planning an event called Freedom

Week. This is an event initiated by FTC last year to celebrate fifteen years of the idealism of

the founders of FTC. During this time, the organization has grown to help children locally and

around the world to become free from poverty, exploitation, thirst, and disease.

FREEDOM WEEK will take place at Forest Glen from April 16th until April 20th during school hours. Throughout the week we will be fundraising for FTC initiatives. We will host a Kick-Off Assembly, a Bake Sale, a Freedom Dance (Grades 6-8), and a Vow of Silence.
